Buying is not always the best first move

Professional drain and camera systems are expensive, maintenance-intensive, and capable of causing injury or pipe damage when mismatched. For an occasional problem, qualified service or a properly supported rental may be more economical than ownership. For a working fleet, compare the complete system, training, repair support, and consumables—not only the headline price.

Before you choose

Can a sewer camera find every problem?

No. Access, water, debris, pipe diameter, bends, and camera-head size affect what can be seen. The operator still has to interpret the image in context.

Do I need a locator with a camera?

A locator is valuable when the camera head carries a compatible transmitting sonde and you need to trace the route or mark a point. It is a separate skill and tool, not automatically included with every camera.

FlexShaft or cable machine?

Neither is universally better. The blockage, pipe condition, diameter, access, cleaning objective, machine rating, and attachments determine the safer and more effective method.
