Outdoor Faucet Repair in The Colony, TX
A dripping hose bibb, loose outdoor faucet, or water appearing around the wall deserves a closer look. Sergeant Plumber Corp. evaluates the faucet, its connection, and the access needed for repair or replacement.
We explain the findings, proposed scope, and upfront pricing before authorized work begins.

What is your outdoor faucet doing?
When requesting service, tell us what you see and when it happens:
- Dripping even when the handle is turned off.
- Leaking around the handle or faucet body.
- Spraying or leaking only with a hose attached.
- Moving at the wall, feeling loose, or showing visible damage.
- Leaving moisture around the wall or nearby interior surfaces.
Dripping outdoor faucet: repair or replace?
A drip does not automatically mean the entire faucet needs replacing. A serviceable seal or vacuum breaker may be repairable with parts matched to the model. A damaged valve seat or split faucet tube can change that decision. The leak location helps narrow the inspection; it does not establish a diagnosis by itself.
Water keeps dripping from the spout after shutoff
Some frost-free faucets briefly drain after you turn them off. A continuing drip after that drainage ends needs a different check: the washer, shutoff seat, and stem may need attention. Whether those parts can be serviced depends on the faucet model and condition.
Water leaks around the handle while running
The packing or stem seal may need service. Parts and adjustment directions vary, even among similar-looking faucets. Identify the model before choosing a repair kit; a handle-area leak alone does not prove that the piping behind the wall needs replacement.
Water leaks from the cap or small vent openings
This may involve the vacuum breaker or a self-draining feature. Brief drainage after shutoff and persistent leakage during use are different observations. Describe the timing and exact opening. The backflow-protection assembly needs model-specific evaluation; do not plug its openings to stop water.
Water appears at the wall or inside the house
Stop using the faucet and arrange an evaluation. A frost-free faucet can split inside the wall if trapped water freezes; the visible spout may not reveal the damage. Do not turn it back on just to recreate an interior leak. If water continues spreading, follow our emergency water-shutoff guidance.

What to expect from service
Check the faucet and access
We discuss the symptoms and inspect the accessible faucet, supply connection, and surrounding area.
Review the scope and price
We explain the available repair or replacement options, required access, and any restoration included in the proposed work.
Perform the approved work
After approval, we complete the agreed plumbing work and check the affected connections and faucet operation.
Will the brick or wall need to be opened?
The visible faucet is only part of the assembly. Its connection and the space around it determine how it can be reached. We need to evaluate that access before describing the work your property needs.
On the job shown here, opening the brick exposed the piping connection. The work continued through the faucet replacement and restoration of the opening.
Ask what access and restoration are included in your proposal. The job video shows one completed repair; it does not mean every outdoor faucet replacement requires the same opening or includes the same wall work.

Outdoor faucet service questions
Can the faucet be repaired, or does it need replacement?
That depends on the faucet’s condition, the source of the leak, available parts, and the connection behind it. We explain the practical options after evaluating the problem.
How much does outdoor faucet repair cost?
The faucet, connection, access, and any agreed restoration affect the scope. The applicable service or diagnostic fee will be explained before the appointment is scheduled. Upfront pricing is provided before authorized repair work begins.
What should I send when requesting service?
Have your service address, availability, and a description of the problem ready. Clear photos of the faucet and surrounding wall are helpful. Tell us whether it leaks while off, while running, or only with a hose connected.
Does an online request confirm an appointment?
No. Send your request and we will contact you to discuss scheduling and next steps. Availability depends on your location and the schedule.
